Husband and wife Tom and Rita Miller will open Keepers of the Food July 28 at 2400 FM 1488, Ste. 100, The Woodlands. The café and food shop will focus on serving farm-to-table healthy options featuring high-protein, low-cholesterol dishes. “We’re just really excited to get opened and get some good, nutritious food to the public,” Tom Miller said. “I have a history with cancer and I had to radically change my diet so that’s kind of what spearheaded this whole thing. I just want to be able to use my testimony to help others get healthy.” The restaurant will offer breakfast and lunch from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Tues.-Sat. and dinner from 5-9 p.m. Fri.-Sat. The eatery will be closed Sundays and Mondays. Keepers of The Food will serve chicken and beef dishes—as well as vegetarian options—and in the future will be able to produce its own breads and pastas. In addition to serving healthy food, the shop will also carry premade salads and sandwiches to-go and will offer a meal delivery service through its membership program. 936-235-4973. www.facebook.com/gourmet.farm.to.table
