Mia’s Table will open in the former location of Alcaliente at 18450 I-45 S., Shenandoah, city officials confirmed Feb. 20. The Johnny Carrabba-owned restaurant has an original location at 3131 Argonne Street, Houston. “We have permitted a Mia’s restaurant,” Shenandoah Communication Specialist Debbie Pilcher said. “They will be completing a full exterior and interior renovation. My understanding is that this is a Johnny Carrabba's Venture.” The family-friendly restaurant will serve burgers, sandwiches, tacos and salads, as well as country platters of chicken fried steak, meatloaf or chicken fried chicken and baskets of chicken strips, fried shrimp or fried catfish. The eatery will also serve smoker choices of pulled pork, pulled chicken, baby back ribs and barbecue chicken. Mia's Table will also offer a children's menu, milkshakes and malts. Construction on the building began in mid-February, however a projected opening date has not been announced. 713-522-6427. www.miastable.com
