The women's clothing chain Dressbarn on May 20 announced plans to end its retail activities and will gradually close all of its 650 stores, including one in Shenandoah.
The company said it will announce details on individual store closures, including the Shenandoah location in the Portofino Shopping Center at 19075 I-45 N., as its business wind-down continues. Dressbarn's stores and retail website will remain in operation during the process.
"For more than 50 years, Dressbarn has served women’s fashion needs, and we thank all of our dedicated associates for their commitment to Dressbarn and our valued customers," Dressbarn CFO Steven Taylor said in a news release. "This decision was difficult, but necessary, as the Dressbarn chain has not been operating at an acceptable level of profitability in today’s retail environment."
