Glade Cultural Center celebrates its grand opening April 20 from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. in the former location of The Woodlands Information Center, at 2000 Woodlands Parkway, The Woodlands. Founded by Glade Gallery owner Dragos Tapu, the Glade Arts Foundation works to provide accessible fine arts experiences with art education, scholarships, public art projects and exhibits. The new building will house a permanent collection of works by painter and sculptor David Adickes as well as temporary exhibits from local and international artists. The center will also offer weekly classes and house the Glade Gallery, which relocated from its previous space at The Woodlands Waterway on April 5. The building was originally slated to open in November. During the event, Glade Arts Foundation will unveil exhibits by Adickes, along with a special exhibit of never- before-seen sculptures by a late nationally known Texas artist. The event will also include cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and complimentary valet parking. The event's dress code is business-business casual. 832-557-8781. www.gladeartsfoundation.org
