1960 Hope Center, a nonprofit day center and assistance center for homeless individuals in the north Houston area, will relocate in late May from 744 Cypress Creek Parkway, Ste. B, Houston to a new two-story, 14,000-square-foot building at 821 Peakwood Drive, Houston.

According to President Debbie Johnson, the new facility, purchased in December, will allow 1960 Hope Center to expand its services and enhance its assistance to homeless individuals, while enabling other agencies to also offer onsite services. Johnson said while the center is currently open Mon.-Sat., she hopes the center can be open seven days a week, with limited services on the weekend, upon relocation.

The organization is currently working to add multiple showers and a laundry facility to the new building and construction is expected to take five months to complete. The volunteer-driven center first opened in August 2016. 832-965-5511. www.1960hopecenter.com
