Checkers plans to open a restaurant in Humble in September at 4892 FM 1960. The casual-dining restaurant chain specializes in hamburgers and french fries, but it also serves hot dogs, fish sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, chicken wings and dessert. The Checkers and Rally’s franchise plans to open 24 restaurants in the Greater Houston area in 2017. Seven of the 24 restaurants will be in the suburbs. www.checkers.com
