Charming Charlie company files for bankruptcy; Atascocita store to close in late August

Charming Charlie, a national chain that sells jewelry, handbags, apparel and gifts, will close its doors Aug. 31 at 6621 FM 1960 E., Atascocita. The closing is part of the company filing for bankruptcy July 11. All 261 Charming Charlie locations across 38 states in the U.S. will close by Aug. 31, according to a news release from the company. Store Manager Hannah Forsythe said the store is offering a 20% discount on all items, and discounts may increase as the closing date nears. 281-812-2618. www.charmingcharlie.com
