Paco Pops, an artesian frozen pop and ice cream shop, opened April 13 at 24022 Loop 494, Ste. C, Porter. Co-owned by local resident Francisco Sanchez, Paco Pops features a variety of homemade frozen pops and ice cream flavors as well as nachos, fruit cups and elote, or Mexican street corn mixed in a cup made with mayonnaise, cheese and chili powder. The frozen pops, which are available as a water- or cream-based treats, include such flavors as cookies and cream, avocado and guanabana, otherwise known as soursop.
