Katy's Cane Island master-planned community announced two new homebuilders for its 100-acre second phase.

Taylor Morrison and Highland Homes are expected to open new homes in the development this spring, joining CalAtlantic Homes, Coventry Homes, David Weekley Homes, Perry Homes, Shea Homes, Toll Brothers and Trendmaker Homes in the 1,200-acre community. Cane Island announced Jan. 8 that more Phase 2 homebuilders would be announced in the coming weeks, The second phase will produce at least 250 homes on more than 100 acres.

The community opened in 2015 at 2100 Cane Island Parkway, Katy, with plans for up to about 2,000 homes. The development is zoned to Katy ISD campuses Bryant Elementary School, Katy Junior High School and Katy High School. It also features the Cane Island Amenity Village with a 24-hour fitness center, yoga studio, swimming pools and water play area, a café, tree house, loft and outdoor fireplace.
