Katy’s Agave Rio suspends food service; owners to focus on events business

After two years of operating, restaurant Agave Rio at 1138 FM 1463, Katy, suspended its daily food service Jan. 2, according to a press release.

Owners Shelton Craig and Steve Livingston have decided to focus on their event venue business, Agave Estates, formerly Agave Real, at 1250 FM 1463, Katy, according to the release. Craig and Livingston founded their Agave brand in 2006 as an events venue and see this move as a return to their roots.

“We had a great time with the restaurant, hosting large family celebrations, romantic dinners for two and everything in between,” Livingston said in the release. “But we are now excited to turn our full attention and future investment back to our roots and what we have built our reputation around for the past decade—creating unforgettable event experiences for our clients.”
