IMPACT: Katy area Walmart off FM 1093 to open this summer

A new  190,000-square-foot Walmart Supercenter is now under construction at 26824 FM 1093, Richmond. The store is expected to open this summer, according to the company.

The new location will support up to 300 jobs with a full-time average hourly wage of up to $13.37. The supercenter will include a grocery department with a deli, bakery, prepared foods and produce sections.

The store will also feature a drive-thru and full-service pharmacy selling $4 generic prescriptions, as well as a vision center, digital photo processing center, money center and all of Walmart's regular retail inventory.

Walmart Pickup services will also be available at this location, according to the company.
