Rick Rice Park in Katy area celebrates 10-year anniversary
Katy-area’s Rick Rice Park celebrated its 10-year anniversary June 9. The 8.5-acre park is located immediately west of Westgreen Boulevard and south of I-10. Overseen by the Interstate Municipal Utility District, Rick Rice Park includes a half-mile hike and bike trail; the Veteran Memorial Plaza; the CanCare Overlook, in honor of those battling cancer; Francesca’s Garden; and the Laskey Baker Memorial Plaza. The park is named after former Interstate MUD board member and Houston City Planner Rick Rice, who helped develop and improve West Houston’s parklands and outdoor environments. 832-978-0906. www.interstatemud.com/rick-rice-park-2/
