Copperfield’s Books, located at 8220 Louetta Road, Ste. 106, Spring, will celebrate its fifth anniversary with its second annual local author fair May 18. While the locally owned book store first opened in 1993, this year marks the fifth anniversary since husband and wife Shawn and Tiffany Smith and Tiffany’s mother, Donna Maxwell, purchased the shop. The free celebration will take place from 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. and feature more than 25 local artists and authors of books in a variety of genres who will be available for meet-and-greets and book signings. In addition, the event will include complementary refreshments, giveaways and raffle prizes. The independent bookstore features more than 50,000 titles in new and pre-read books as well as literacy-themed gift items.
