Officials with Family Dollar plan to celebrate the grand opening of a new 8,300-square-foot Cypress location June 22 within Cypress Shops, a new retail center developed by American Realty Group at 6871 Fry Road, Cypress. The new location will feature $1 Dollar Tree merchandise, additional freezers and coolers, and an expanded selection of food, beauty, household and seasonal items, according to a June 11 press release.

A grand opening celebration from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. will feature gift basket raffles, giveaways, free samples and entertainment. The first 50 customers on will receive a gift card and a reusable shopping bag. The new store is expected to staff 6-10 employees and is now hiring.
