Cy-Fair residents and husband-and-wife duo Ginger and Terrell Jones are working to open Gooey's Ice Cream Sandwiches—a homemade ice cream sandwich shop—around mid-May at 25626 Hwy. 290, Ste. 500, Cypress, near the Skinner Road intersection. The shop will sell ice cream sandwiches made out of homemade brownies, cookies, rice crispy treats, donuts, waffles, French toast and churros, Ginger said. It will also offer milkshakes, fried ice cream and a dessert called the Wholly Molly—made with donut holes, ice cream, toppings, whipped cream, caramel and fudge with a cherry on top. Other specials will include funnel cakes and fried Oreos. "It is a messy, fun concept that looks forward to bringing hospitality to the dessert market," Ginger said. "A big part of our dream is giving back to the community. We hope to have fundraisers for animal rescue groups, sports teams, school organizations and so on." www.facebook.com/gooeysicecream
