Officials with NewQuest Properties announced in a June 17 press release that Olive Garden and Jason’s Deli will be the final two restaurants at Fairfield Marketplace. According to the release, both restaurants will break ground in July off Hwy. 290 at Mason Road. Officials said the timeline of acquiring the land from the Texas Department of Transportation and finalizing the deal took more than three years. "We've had a lot of inquiries from Fairfield residents about when Olive Garden and Jason's are going to open," NewQuest Senior Vice President Bob Conwell said in a statement. "The goal is to open by the holidays." The immediate area is master-planned for up to 9,100 single-family homes between Fairfield and the future Dunham Pointe, officials said. Fairfield Marketplace is anchored by Kroger, which opened four years ago. The project's retail component is now 100% leased with the two new signings.
