Life Time Athletic Cypress celebrated the grand opening of its new 248,00-square-foot facility Thursday, June 14, at 9922 Fry Road, Cypress. The fitness club—which is slated to open to all members Monday, June 18—features 10 indoor and outdoor tennis courts, an indoor and outdoor aquatic center, leisure and lap pools, two full-size basketball courts, two large group training studios, one studio cycle theater, three yoga studios and one Pilates studio, among other cardio, free weight and resistance equipment.

Social events, swimming lessons, summer camps, group classes, nutrition and endurance coaching, health and fitness assessments, spa treatments and complimentary towel and locker services are also available to members.

Officials said the new facility cost more than $42 million to construct and created about 320 new jobs.

“This extraordinary development allows us to provide the Cypress area with a comprehensive athletic resort that simply is unmatched,” General Manager Tomas Kobersky said. “We are honored to continue our growth in the Houston community and help our members—from our youngest kids to most seasoned adults—live healthy, happy lives with a unique and comprehensive ‘Healthy Way of Life’ experience.”
