Congregation Emanu El celebrated its 75th anniversary June 8 since its founding in 1944. The synagogue, located at 1500 Sunset Blvd., Houston, is also undergoing renovations to its roof and HVAC system that are valued at roughly $2.8 million and are expected to be complete later this summer. 713-529-5771.
