Tejas Chocolate & Barbecue co-owners Scott Moore, Greg Moore and Michelle Holland will open Tejas Burger Joint at 214 W. Main St., Tomball, in the former location of Mustard Seed Kitchen. Scott Moore said he anticipates opening the Main Street establishment in late summer.
The idea for the burger joint came from a Wednesday special—called the Smokehouse Burger—that debuted at Tejas Chocolate & Barbecue several weeks ago and quickly became popular, Moore said. The Smokehouse Burger includes an all-brisket patty, smoked cheddar, caramelized onions and bacon.
"It became an instant hit," he said. "But the barbecue kitchen has limited capacity for burgers. It's not designed for it."
The new establishment will serve gourmet burgers, fries and shakes.
"To be on Main Street is a pretty cool idea," Moore said.
