St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church is hosting a groundbreaking at 10 a.m. this Saturday, June 23, for a 3,100-square-foot expansion of the campus located at 13131 Fry Road, Cypress. Rev. Les Carpenter said the expansion will create more space for worship, fellowship and serving the community. “In addition to our weekly worship services, our church serves as home to driver’s education classes, scouts and a variety of other community services," Carpenter said. "We will be able to serve the community on a larger basis now." Axis Builders is slated to spend six to nine months on the project, which will bring the facility’s total size to about 10,000 square feet. Regular worship services are held at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. every Sunday. 281-373-3203. www.aidanschurch.org
