Watercrest at Kingwood, a retirement community, announced the start of a 145,117-square-foot community expansion project April 10 to add 101 new residences as well as common areas, dining venues, libraries and outdoor amenities, according to a statement. The community, located at 24109 Kingwood Place Drive, Kingwood, offers 174 existing independent living residences.
"As construction begins, we are thrilled to see this second phase of our community take shape," Executive Director Terri Lowery said in a statement. "Today's seniors are seeking communities where they can live life on their own terms, with options instead of a one-size-fits-all approach to retirement living. With our Garden Village, we will offer residents wellness activities and lifestyle options that are designed with their values and interests in mind."
The Garden Village expansion adds 73 independent living and 28 assisted living residences. Residents can choose from Signature Lifestyle—a concierge-style of independent living—and assisted living options, previously not available at Watercrest, according to a statement. The expansion also includes construction of outdoor sitting areas, a walking trail, a wellness center, libraries, a pet park and two dining venues.
