The Salvation Army will open a new Family Store at 10 a.m. Oct. 27. The thrift store and donation center will occupy a former Office Depot at 602 E. Round Grove Road, Lewisville. The 30,000-square-foot building will have 22,000 square feet of resell space, making it the largest Salvation Army Family Store in the DFW Metroplex. Departments will include men’s clothing, women’s clothing, children’s clothing, shoes, furniture, electronics, housewares, home goods, books and sporting goods.
Just prior to the store opening to shoppers for the first time on Saturday, leaders from The Salvation Army will be joined by representatives from the Lewisville Chamber of Commerce for the official ribbon cutting at 9:45 a.m. Before the short ceremony, music will be provided by a Salvation Army brass band. Free doughnuts and coffee will be offered from a Salvation Army disaster food truck. After the store opens, door prizes will be given away every hour throughout the day. Bag stuffers—extra items—will be added to the sacks of customers when they check out, while supplies last.
The store will offer more than 30,000 items for sale with over 5,000 additional items to be added to the sales floor each day. There will be markdowns every week. Every Wednesday will be Family Day, and all clothing and shoes will be half-price.
With 8,000 extra square feet of space in addition to the resell floor, the facility will also serve as a donation drop-off and processing center. The store will be open for shopping and donations every Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
