Merritt Homes reopened Oct. 24 as Merritt McGowan Manor Apartments at 1200 N. Tennessee St., McKinney. These apartments were once an 86-unit public housing property, which was demolished last year to be redeveloped into a new quality, 132-unit, affordable housing facility. Rent is tiered, and to qualify, residents must make less than 60% of the area's median household income. The most expensive unit will be about $1,300 a month for a three-bedroom unit.
