Shannon Star, owner of Layered Bake Shop in McKinney, is partnering with Nir Sela, previous owner of the Generator Coffee Shop and Bakery in Garland, to open a second Layered Bake Shop in downtown McKinney at 111 E. Virginia St.

This location, which is expected to open at the end of August or early September, will be a new concept for Layered and offer guests food, wine, beer, coffee and a variety of desserts, including cake pops, custom cakes and macaroons. Menu items will include pizza, pasta and artisan cheese boards.

The approximately 3,000-square-foot space will include a large display of desserts, an indoor and outdoor patio and a roastery. Layered will host live music and events and allow guests to roast their own coffee. 972-542-6317. www.layeredbakeshop.com
