McKinney residents Paul and Holly Hatch will open Avalanche Dessert Lounge in early March at 3530 W. University Drive, Ste. 301, McKinney. Holly Hatch said the couple moved to McKinney 10 years ago and noticed there was a need for a dessert shop in the city. The dessert lounge will offer funnel cakes loaded with toppings, milkshakes with cake slices or a cookie on top, tableside s'mores and ice cream buns—which is an ice cream sandwich made with donuts. Avalanche Dessert Lounge will also be open later in the evening, allowing guests to enjoy dessert after dinner, Holly Hatch said.
