Lewisville natives Randy and Ronda Owens, owners of The Perc Coffeehouse and Main Street Mercantile, are in the process of restoring and renovating the building next door to The Perc, located at 115 W. Main St., Lewisville.

The two-story building will house Main Street Mercantile. It will continue to feature antique and vintage furniture and collectibles as well as the Owens' own line of gourmet food products, home accessories, gifts and custom candles. Ronda said she expects the building to be complete by the end of September in time for Western Days.

"We’re also expanding a section of the Merc to include an emporium area that will have unique and unusual items for men as well as collectors of all kinds," Ronda said. "In the back section of the store will be what we call the 'Werkshop' area where we’ll hold craft classes, demonstrations and pop up shops of all kinds."
In addition to the Merc—the shop's nickname—the back of the building will house a roasting room for the new line of coffee that the Perc will be introducing.

"We’ll have the roaster on site and will have demonstrations and a cupping bar for tastings," she said. "[We] hope to launch our new coffee line sometime in October."

The second floor of the building will have a multipurpose rental space that will have doors that open to Wayne Ferguson Plaza.

"This space will be furnished with vintage items from the Merc and is going to be a really cool space we like to call 'The Lounge.'  Reminiscent of an old English pub, it will have a spacious antique table for meetings or special events. It will house a French bar that came out of a local shop in Paris from the early 1900s with chandeliers that light the place up," Ronda said.

Also on the second level at the front of the space will be a co-working space that will be called OTHQ, Old Town Headquarters. These spaces will be rentable by the hour, day, week or month. The space will provide high speed internet, printing and conference room space as well as “phone booth” areas where private calls can be made.
