Grapevine's St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church will unveil $1 million worth of renovations during a 10 a.m. service Sept. 1, at 861 Wildwood Lane, Grapevine. The church building had been closed for three months while the renovations were taking place, and services were being held in the facility's Family Life Center and gym. This is the first complete renovation for the sanctuary since it opened in 1985, director of marketing and events Joseph Baringhaus said. The renovations included new flooring, paint, new artwork, new interior layouts, including shortening the stairs to the altar area. The Sept. 1 ceremony will also celebrate the church's 70th anniversary, which was marked on July 29. 817-481-2685.
