Summermoon Coffee, an Austin-based coffee shop that opened a location in Buda in 2014 and plans to open a store in Kyle in early 2017, will open two locations in San Marcos as well. Summermoon co-owner Justin Terry said the company signed a lease at Ella Lofts, 817 Chestnut St., San Marcos, Oct. 14. The company is also planning to open a location at Springtown Mall, 200 Springtown Way, San Marcos. Terry estimated the Ella Lofts location could be open by March. The company has tested a new system in which its moon milk—a proprietary sweetener that can be added to the coffee purveyor’s drinks—is hooked up to a nitrous tap, giving the sweetener a creamy finish. Terry said the two new locations will be similar to the company's other stores, but will include some elements unique to San Marcos. “All of our locations are the same but different,” Terry said. “They're similar in how we run our system with wood-fired coffee and moon milk and all that. … As far as the decor of the shop and feel, there are a few things we want to keep standard in our shops, but aside from that we try to shape around the community itself.” Summermoon Coffee 512-312-4901 www.woodfiredcoffee.com
