City Surf San Marcos, located at 700 N. LBJ Drive, Ste. 103A, announced to its members in a January email that the fitness location is closing until further notice. The last day of classes will be Jan. 19. In the email, owner Cristen Martemucci stated that City Surf San Marcos can't afford to stay open due to rent increases and a lack of committed month-to-month members. "I'm truly sorry it has come down to this and I promise I have done everything in my power to try and keep City Surf running here," Martemucci wrote. "I have grown to love each and every one of my members and it breaks my heart to have to close. I hope we can connect somewhere in the near future."
