In December, Investcor Development will break ground on a 73,000-square-foot assisted-living and memory care facility at 800 Leah Ave. in San Marcos, close to the Central Texas Medical Center.

The facility, so far unnamed, is designed to accommodate a long list of amenities that includes private dining areas, sun rooms, libraries, a chapel, a screening room for films and a bistro. Outdoors residents will find three courtyards, a putting green for golf, a fire pit, an outdoor kitchen for grilling, butterfly gardens and a dog park.

With 68 one- and two-bedroom assisting-living units and 24 memory care units attended to by a 24-hour staff, the facility aims to address a growing population in San Marcos and an increasing number of older people in the region.

“San Marcos is in need of a fresh new facility for their growing senior population,”Investcor partner Tylere Brennan said in an email. “We offer an extensive list of activities throughout the day to help stimulate physical and mental health.”

Investcor expects to complete construction in early 2020.
