Kissing Tree Golf Club, a public course that is part of the 55-and-older planned community Kissing Tree, opened Oct. 1.

The 18-hole course at 201 Kissing Tree Lane, San Marcos, was designed by Gary Stephenson and will be managed by Troon, an international golf- and club-management company.

Planted with a type of Bermuda grass meant to keep consistent golfing conditions year-round, the 6,600-yard, par-72 course is geared towards a wide range of skill levels. The club also has a practice range, practice putting green and short-game practice facility.

The Kissing Tree course has already been named a Signature Program facility by the Audubon Certification Program for Golf, which assists developers wishing to design courses using sustainable resource management principles. 512-749-1250.
