San Marcos will see a new hotel in the near future as Platinum Management Services broke ground on the new Residence Inn Marriott San Marcos, 625 Commercial Loop, San Marcos, on Tuesday, Feb. 27.

The hotel, which will sit adjacent to Platinum Management Services' Courtyard Marriott San Marcos, will be marketed toward business and extended stay travelers.

The new construction project is set to have 117 suite-style rooms and will feature complimentary breakfast, laundry services, a fully equipped kitchen and grocery shopping services. The hotel is expected to be fully operational by winter 2018.
