Avid Hotels, a franchise started in 2017 by InterContinental Hotels Group, will break ground on an 89-room hotel in Round Rock on May 21. Plans call for a four-story, 42,407-square-foot structure at South A.W. Grimes and Roundville Lane.

Avid Hotels offers free breakfast for guests, in-room black-out shades to block sunlight and sound-reducing headboards. There are currently three Avid Hotels in Oklahoma, according to the company's website. Two more hotels are slated to open this fall—one in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and the other in Monona, Wisconsin.

Wurzel Builders, the builder behind the Round Rock location, estimates construction will conclude by the end of February 2020.
