Round Rock City Council voted to rename the city’s municipal courtroom as the Dan R. McNery Municipal Courtroom on Oct. 24.

McNery, who served as municipal court judge for 37 years, died April 30 from complications of cancer.

“Judge McNery was instrumental in starting many innovative volunteer programs, such as the Teen Court program that allows offenders to make restitution for their offenses through community service,” City Council’s resolution states.
