Pflugerville City Manager Sereniah Breland was named the next vice president of the Texas City Management Association, according to a city news release. Breland was elected to serve on the TCMA board of directors in the April TCMA elections, per the release, and will begin her term as vice president following the TCMA annual conference, held from June 27-30 in Fort Worth. The TCMA is an organization comprising local government employees and is designed to facilitate governance, service, leadership, ethics and educations for the communities they serve, according to the release. Breland is currently completing her two-year term as the TCMA's director at large, serves as a trainer for the TCMA's ethics course, and formerly participated in the organization's Membership Committee and Professional Development Committee, per the release. While serving as vice president, Breland will act as the chair of the Membership Committee and carry out special projects designated to her by the TCMA president.
