Pinky's Wine Bar, 232 N. LBJ Drive, San Marcos, opened in early December. The wine bar is located inside Dahlia Woods Gallery and serves a variety of Texas wines. Owner Dahlia Woods said she hopes the bar will provide those seeking a night out with an alternative to raucous bars found elsewhere in San Marcos. "I'm trying to create an environment where you can have a glass of wine, look at books, art and jewelry," Woods said. Pinky's Wine Bar and Dahlia Woods Gallery will host live music Fridays and Saturdays, Woods said. The bar will also be a stop on the Third Thursday Walkabout, a new initiative Woods hopes will bring more people to downtown businesses. During the event, which will next be held on Jan. 19, some downtown shops and restaurants keep their doors open for extended hours and provide refreshments to guests.
