The city of Cedar Park celebrates its 45th anniversary Feb. 24. Cedar Park City Council gave a presentation on the history of the city during a Feb. 22 meeting, and Mayor Matt Powell said Cedar Park was a rail stop near Brushy Creek Road and the railroad tracks in the 1870s. He said Austinites would ride a train out to the country and visit a park with landscaping and walking trails carved through all the cedar trees. As the city of Austin continues to grow up to the borders of RR 620, Cedar Park was incorporated as a city on Feb. 24, 1973. Residents can view a
