Great American Cookies is celebrating its 40th anniversary June 22. The company sells cookies and cookie cakes.

To celebrate the occasion, the franchise chain in Lakeline Mall will give free cookie cakes to the first 40 customers at each participating store as well as sell up to a dozen 40-cent cookies to each customer. There also will be a giant cookie cake made of several put together. Slices of this cake will sell for $1 a proceeds go toward a local nonprofit.
