Alysha Girard was hired to be the new general manager of the Upper Brushy Creek Water Control and Improvement District, according to a statement from the district Aug. 31.

Girard’s first day will be Sept. 17. She worked for the city of Round Rock for 20 years, including recently as the stormwater programs manager, according to the statement.

The Upper Brushy Creek WCID maintains flood-control structures primarily in Cedar Park, Hutto, Leander, Round Rock and the surrounding area.

Until Girard was hired the Upper Brushy Creek WCID did not have a general manager since February, according to district secretary Lisa Moravitz.
