The rehabilitation of the Upper Brushy Creek Water Control and Improvement District’s Dam 7 was named “Project of the Year” by the Texas Chapter of the American Public Works Association in the structures category on June 28.

The dam is located on Brushy Creek at the edge of Cedar Park and Austin, next to Brushy Creek Lake Park.

The project, which cost $18 million, was completed this spring and modernized the dam to meet current dam safety regulations, according to a statement from Williamson County. The dam rehabilitation project was recognized during the Texas Chapter of the American Public Works Association’s annual conference in Fort Worth in June.
