The Okinawan Arts Research Studies - World Scene, or OARS-WS, holds a grand opening Dec. 2-3 at 18400 FM 1431, Jonestown. City resident David Williams, whose family is Okinawan, created OARS-WS as a website in 2006, but the new museum, art gallery and martial arts training hall is the organization’s first physical home. The grand opening includes a karate seminar from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Dec. 2 and open house and art show 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Dec. 3. 512-497-3241.
