Cedar Park to receive $68K federal grant to assist firefighters

The city of Cedar Park is receiving a $68,832.72 federal grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.

The grant is intended “to enhance operations and safety in response to fires and other emergencies,” according to a Sept. 11 press release from U.S. Senator John Cornyn’s office.

“Firefighters are on the front lines of keeping our communities safe, and they deserve every resource possible at their disposal,” Cornyn said in the release. “I applaud area leaders for their work to obtain this grant, and I’m grateful to the Trump Administration for supporting Cedar Park, Texas.”

The AFG program seeks to improve fire preparedness and response in the U.S.
