The Texas Department of Transportation celebrates its 100th anniversary April 4. The agency began as the Texas Highway Department managing 8,865 miles of highways statewide. Now, TxDOT is in charge of maintaining 80,000 highway miles, including I-35, US 183, MoPac, RM 620 and Loop 360. In celebration of its centennial milestone, the agency launched a new website dedicated to showcasing its history. www.dot.state.tx.us/txdot100
