The first P. Terry's outside of the Austin area will be open by the end of the year in San Marcos.

Located in the former Kobe Steakhouse building at 515 Springtown Way, the Austin-based restaurant will be 5,763 square feet, have two drive-thrus and a dining room, according to owner Patrick Terry.

"We're extremely excited," he said, adding a groundbreaking date has not yet been scheduled and building designs are being finalized. Terry said the Kobe Steakhouse building will be torn down and replaced with the new P. Terry's building.

P. Terry's serves burgers, sides, breakfast items, and milkshakes and has 14 locations in the Austin area. The company started in 2005.

Most recently, P. Terry's opened Taco Ranch in South Austin in January. www.pterrys.com
