The Hampton Branch at Oak Hill Library will re-open on Oct. 21 after a year-long closure for renovations. Notable changes to the library include a skylight to let in natural light, a new “quiet room” and upgraded digital resources and tools, according to a news release from Austin Public Library.

“We are ecstatic to open the doors again to consumers. The much-needed upgrades to the building will help meet the needs of this community for years to come,” Austin Public Library Director Roosevelt Weeks said in the news release.

Other library upgrades include new carpets, paint and furniture, a replaced roof and improved plumbing, heating and ventilation. According to the library, the facility is now up to American with Disabilities Act standards.

A grand re-opening celebration will be held Oct. 26 at the library, located at 5125 Convict Hill Road, Austin, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. 512-974-9634. www.library.austintexas.gov/hampton-branch-at-oak-hill
