Lewisville amends interlocal agreement for potential Vistara Sports expansion

The proposed expansion plans to add outdoor pickleball courts on nearly an acre of land adjacent to Vistara Sports, according to the staff memo. Vistara Sports Founder Harish Reddy said they plan to add 11 courts and a restaurant to the site.

Since the site is zoned for light industrial inside Lewisville city limits, council will also have to approve a special use permit for the development. Council is expected to vote on the permit at a future meeting.

Some context

Vistara Sports opened in 2023 in a 34,800-square-foot space along West Vista Ridge Drive. The facility holds 18 indoor courts that can be used for badminton, pickleball and table tennis, according to its website. The facility also holds a dance studio and conference space, Reddy said.

The outdoor courts will be primarily used for recreational and competitive pickleball, Reddy said. Construction will start after Vistara Sports receives the necessary approvals from the city of Lewisville, he said.

“All that we are trying to do is complement the indoor facility,” Reddy said.
