Kendall Carter, Chris Neighbors elected to Liberty Hill ISD board

There are no runoffs for the LHISD board of trustees, and the candidate with the most votes wins.

Meanwhile, Carter received 80.05% of the vote, or 1,617 votes, outpacing his opponent, Antonio Canas. Canas received 403 votes.

Liberty Hill ISD voters cast ballots in two contested board of trustee races during the May 6 election.

With Williamson County reporting early results, current Trustee Kendall Carter is leading in Place 2, while incumbent Terry Smith falls behind in the race for Place 1.

The ballot includes two incumbents Smith and Carter, who are looking to get re-elected to their current Place 1 and Place 2 seats, respectively.

The race for Place 1 has three other candidates: Chris Neighbors, Brandon Canady and Cory Milam. Place 2 has one other contender, Antonio Canas.

In the Place 1 race, Smith has received 7.53% of the vote, or 128 votes, trailing behind Neighbors, Canady and Milam. Neighbors leads with 34.41% of the vote, or 585 votes; Canady has 31.47% of the vote, or 535 votes; and Milam has secured 26.59% of the vote, or 452 votes.

In the race for Place 2, Carter has taken an early lead with 80.83% of the vote, or 1,252 votes. His opponent, Canas, has pulled in 297 votes, or 19.17%.

There is no runoff election for LHISD board seats. The candidate who receives the most votes will win the election.
