Bo Beaudry became the new chief executive officer of Cedar Park Regional Medical Center in February. Previously, he served as the president of The Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur and the chief operating officer and interim president of St. Joseph Medical Center in Houston. Outside of his career, he enjoys hunting, fishing and traveling with his wife and is an avid fan of Texas A&M University football.
What attracted you to your position at Cedar Park Regional Medical Center?
I have a special place in my heart for Central Texas as I grew up hunting in the Hill Country. In considering the position, I looked at the strong performance of Cedar Park Regional Medical Center and the opportunities for continued growth in a highly competitive market. I was also drawn to the organizational culture of Cedar Park Regional and its mission, “Expect Excellence.” This is such a beautiful and rapidly growing community with excellent schools. My wife and I are expecting our first child in June, and we look forward to establishing roots and raising our family here.
How did your background prepare you for this role?
I have more than a decade of experience in health care, beginning as an entry-level staff accountant and ultimately pursing the executive track, which led to roles as hospital COO and CEO. My facility oversight includes three acute care, multifacility hospitals in competitive markets such as Houston, San Antonio and the Beaumont-Port Arthur area.
My time at these facilities has helped in developing effective strategies for growth, quality improvement, operational discipline and regulatory compliance. I also had the emergency management experience of navigating a large hospital in downtown Houston through Hurricane Harvey. Over the years, my values of integrity, loyalty, honesty, compassion and humor have been instrumental in fostering a positive culture of engagement, high performance and teamwork within these facilities.
What are the most important health issues facing the people of Central Texas?
Meeting the demands of a rapidly growing market and offering affordable options for care are the most pressing health issues facing Central Texas. There are more than 20 people each day who are moving to our primary service area. We will meet this demand by growing the provider base and expanding our services and infrastructure. It is paramount to offer services close to home so that patients are not transferred to other facilities outside of our market for their health care needs.
What are some of your goals for the upcoming year?
My top priority is to continue to build high-quality, affordable access to health care with same-day appointments and extended hours for patients. I am dedicated to enhancing the patient experience and employee/physician satisfaction. With our tremendous growth, we are also exploring facility expansion.
What is one thing that you would like the community to know about your hospital?
We are extremely involved in the community and focused on continued support. We are devoted to our partnerships with the chambers of commerce in our region as well as the school districts. Our growth and strategic vision are closely aligned with the needs of the residents in the communities we serve. We are proud of our mission to “Expect Excellence.”
