Due to the cold weather and dangerous travel conditions, Baylor Scott & White Health announced that all Austin and Round Rock COVID-19 testing sites will be closed Feb. 15, and in-person appointments will be rescheduled or converted to online visits. Hospitals will remain open.
"The safety of our team members and the community is our top priority," according to a statement sent to Community Impact Newspaper from Christy Millweard, senior marketing and public relations consultant for Baylor Scott & White.
Similarly, Austin Regional Clinic said on its website that for Feb. 15 it also canceled in-person appointments and COVID-19 testing while continuing to advise patients online and with phone conversations.
Both medical groups urged the public to keep track of the changing conditions and what services would be available Feb. 16.
