The Lake Travis Youth Association removed the "For sale" signs on its Bee Cave Field of Dreams off West Hwy. 71 on April 10. LTYA, a nonprofit organization that offers sports and athletic programs to local youth, owns the 19-acre complex.
“That is a highly desirable property,” Sullivan said about the Bee Cave tract. “In recent years, LTYA received inquiries and proposals for the sale and/or utilization of the fields. In recent months, the board decided to take down the ‘For sale’ signs and put an end to any idea that the property may be sold or used for another purpose.”
He said the board felt it was important, due to the extreme population growth in the area, to retain the property long term and focus on improving its current fields by adding water tanks to keep the soccer grounds in working order as well as renovating the stands.
“It will take time, money and cooperation from the city of Bee Cave [to add improvements to the complex,” Sullivan said. “With the decision to keep [the fields] for years to come, the board is focused on improving the facility and won’t be distracted by any sales offers or other events to take it away from the purpose of serving families.”
